This is our quarterly newsletter with the optional inclusion in the Networking Directory, contains letters from parents, professionals, and individuals with autism in which they share advice and information with one another; articles from various authors, researchers and experts in the field of autism with new research, information, strategies or studies; notices about conferences concerned with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder; and poetry and artwork are also sometimes included.

Professionals and others who work for and with persons on the spectrum will be included in MAAP's National Referral Listing. 	Meltdown Cards (package of 20) Meltdown Cards are business-sized cards with the MAAP Services for Autism and Asperger Syndrome contact information. The reverse side of the card states that one is witnessing the "meltdown" or severe upset of a person with Autism or Asperger Syndrome. The card requests that they not interfere unless requested, assures them that the person handing them the card is doing their best to handle the situation, and that they can call MAAP with further questions. These cards can avert unfortunate contact with well-meaning people, security, police and others who are in authority.

	SOS Cards (package of 20) SOS cards are business-sized cards with the MAAP Services for Autism and Asperger Syndrome contact information. The reverse side of the card states that the person giving them the card has an autism spectrum challenge and that he or she is sufficiently upset as to give them this card. The card briefly lists some things that can cause distress to someone with an ASD. It says to please not touch them or call for help, unless they request it. It then has a place for the person using the card to have put in the name and contact information for someone who knows them and may be able to help or further explain.
